My observations with a forms library with required check out and check in is that the workflow evaluation does not start untill after the check in takes place.
This means that basically you cannot do a chek in from the workflow, yet this seems to be the answer that i found in several posts about automated check in.
So it seems that a Check In action in SPD workflow is useless if the item itself resides in a library which has required check out / in configured...
Effectively the even though the XML is saved to the forms library, you must always manually check in, which is not user friendly....
Maybe I'm doing something wrong... any thoughts, any alternatives?
