Hi,

I need to sync the AD(Active Directory) distribution list and sharepoint user list. Its like I have different distribution like User group, Manager group etc...So the present situation is like if I want to add a person in a distribution list, I need to add the person in both AD and Sharepoint users and groups area. Is it possible to make it automatic like once if I update in AD it should be reflected in sharepoint also.

Unfortunately, Sharepoint does  not write back to AD, and AD will not write permissions to Sharepoint unless the AD group is a member of a current Sharepoint group. If you want to sync the AD and Sharepoint permissions, add the AD group to Sharepoint. You will not be able to see who is a member of that group from Sharepoint, but any time a new user is added to the AD group, they will be pushed to the Sharepoint site as well. Hope this helps.

I tried it is working for security group. But for distribution list, I am not able to get the list in sharepoint. Could you please tell me how to do that for distribution list?
