Approve/Reject from a web browser form.

    Hi

I have a task to simplify the process of approval/rejection of a web browser enabled form request. It is working with a serial workflow where 4 groups (each group of approvers has few people, and only one can approve the form) are responsible for the approve/reject. Now people are people and they like simple things not to go and view the form and close and go to the email back hit the edit this task button and approve or reject. People in my company like to see the form in web browser and approve/reject from there. Also there is more than one approver (4 to be precise) and i have no idea how to do that :)

Any help, advice, suggestion... i know it has to be via a button but how will be initiated with the serial workflow as well when there are 4 approvers :)

or, if there is any way me to present the form information in the email notification they receive when there is a form to be approved and when they would see the form just to have approve/reject button or something like that. I am dealing with senior citizens, nice cute people but demanding :)

    Regards,

It appears you have SharePoint (since you have browser enabled), which has work flow. You can use this.

Otherwise you just need to build the workflow into your form.

The key info you will need is who is completing the form.  I would recomend an Active Directory web service since you can ID your form user and get email and other info for others but you can also use some of the webservices in SP2007.

Once you know the user and the state of the form in the process, you can use conditional formating, views, and rules to give each user type the appropriate layout and options.

    Hi Clay,

I am using MOSS2007 (Sharepoint) sorry I didn't mention it in the previous post. I can say I am starter in workflows, and I like InfoPath forms. I know I am asking a lot, but can you provide me few steps what would I need to do in order to complete this task.

Here is the procedure of the workflow:

A user fills in information for a request, and automatically the workflow is started with serial approval that has 4 Sharepoint groups and only one person (no matter who) can approve/reject the request. If approved it continues to the next group of approvers.

You mention build my workflow in my form. Any help around that how to make it, or how to start, in InfoPath or Visual Studio?

Just to mention i found really nice tutorials and answers in this forum, glad to be here and I appreciate your time. Hope for some more answers :)

    Regards,
