Questions about appropriate file(s) to use.

Hi,I'm sorry for how naive this post may sound, but I have not worked with InfoPath or SharePoint before.  I had a two week SharePoint course a month ago that touched on InfoPath, but that's it.  Now I have to modify a SharePoint application that uses nine InfoPath forms.  It was written by a consulting firm almost a year ago, so I have no on-site support for this project.I have a number of folders that contain all of the source and published files from the application.  Each InfoPath form has a folder that contains a number of files - the main .xsn file as well as manifest, template, C# and others.  The folder also has a subfolder called PublishedForm that contains another .xsn file.

I'm assuming that I will need to create a folder that contains all of the various files in it in order to modify the form, and that the file in the PublishedForm folder would be the published version which would be exported to the SharePoint site.  Does this all sound correct?  I want to make sure that I'm using the correct set of files before I start making changes and find out that I've done it wrong.  It's kind of confusing to me that InfoPath creates two files with the same name and .xsn extension - one for source and one for the published version, if I understand it correctly.  Is there any way to tell which is which?

    Thanks for the help!

    I feel your pain!

InfoPath uses versioning, so it knows that you have different versions on your PC/fileshare & Sharepoint.

Personally, I always go to the .xsn template I worked on locally & publish from there, despite the warnings that Infopath gives me going in.

    Hope this helps!
