    Default Print Orientation

We have developed a form that has multiple views. We have set the print orientation to Portrait in each of the views but we still have to individually go to File => Print => Properties => Basic and re-select Portrait in order to get portrait prints. And the orientation will not save. The next time we come to this forma and try to print it we get Landscape again. Is there some setting in some xsf file that we can alter to get the default to be Portrait for this form (and for all forms, since this is our preferred print orientation)?

This issue is becoming quite serious. Does anyone know how to alter the default view and print orientation to portrait?

From everything I can find, I have to assume there is no way to set a default print and view orientation other than landscape for InfoPath. This seems extremely limiting. I will need to find another tool as this one is not able to do what we need it to do.

    Hi Fourteener,
You could do this in code, but I agree that printing is not InfoPath's forte.

    Re: Default Print Orientation

I have worked with Adobe's form designer before and I know that it has really good print support. However, the input and code functionality is aweful. One idea that I had would be to use InfoPath for form filling out and Adobe to read the XML generated, and perform advanced layout for printing. I know this would be a lot of trouble, but it would give you the best of both worlds!

Just a thought, hope you get things working!

Thanks for all your comments. I'll try to pick up a guide on coding InfoPath to achieve a default orientation of Portrait. It's somewhat helpful to know that this is a basic deficiency in the product and not just my ignorance. Thanks again.
