Removing formatting toolbar from Rich Text Box

How can I remove/cancel the appearance of the pop-up formatting toolbar when user is writing text in Rich Text Box on a form. I want the Rich Text Box only for the expanding of text, but not for formatting by user.

    Thanks

You can use a regular text box and have it expand as well.  Are you sure you need a Rich Text Box?

    Thank you.

Yes, I know.  but I have to make the text box multi line, and also in the print view it must be multi line. Then when the form is printed the little arrow-buttons of the multi line text box are printed also.  Therefore we thought of using the rich text box. Is there a way to remove this toolbar which pops-up?

Like Clay mentioned I also think that you can use a regular textbox. Open the textbox properties, select the Display Tab, check the Paragraph Breaks check box, also check the Wrap Text checkbox and select Expand to show all text from the dropdown list. Does this work for you ???

    Thank you.

Yes, it is great on the local computer, but this option is disabled for the InfoPath Forms Services to be supported  in browser.  There is only the option of multi-line.

    oh its a browser form...

I do not think there is anyway to remove that formatting menu. You could check the form code itself but my guess is it is part of form services.

Let us know if you do.

Re: Removing formatting toolbar from Rich Text Box

We found a way to  print the multiline text box without the "arrows".

First on the form we put multiline text box, and in print view we put Rich text box in which the default value is the field of the multiline text box.

So the user enters text in multiline, but when the form is printed we see the Rich text box with expanded text.

The only problem with this is that in the rich text we do not see the line-feeds entered in the multiline text box. Instead of line-feeds there are only spaces.

Has someone an idea how to make these line-feeds visible? Maybe in code?

    Hi gvital,

[1] Right click on the Rich Text Box and go to Rich Text Box Properties.
[2] In the Rich Text Box Properties dialog box, click on the  Data tab.
[3] In the Rich Text Box Properties dialog box, in the Default Value section, click on the Fx button to enter a value.
[4] In the Insert Formula dialog box, click on the Insert Field or Group button.
[5] In the Select a Field or Group dialog box, click on the field of the Textbox and press OK.
[6] Press Ok on all dialog boxes.
    [7] Test your form.

I have attached an InfoPath form with the implemented functionality.

    Hope it helps.
