Thanks for your reply, trying to stay away from code (not one of my strong areas). Got aroung the problem by using optional sections (5), not the best solution but it works!

when publishing a form to a sharepoint lib. using repeating sections and then creating a view in sharepoint using the repeating section only the first item in the repeating section shows in the view.
