  • Inhibiting structure changes in Choice Section

Hi, I have a schema that involves repeating choice groups and recursive sections.  InfoPath allows me to create a form that can display these structures properly.  The only problem, so far, is that I only want the users to be able to update the fields at the various levels, but I don't want them to be able to change the existing ...

  • Re: predicate filters and repeating fields...

It actually gave me the option to ignore the errors, but it had another error if I took that option and only told me that InfoPath had encountered an error and couldn't continue.  After restarting Visual Studio, it allowed me to ignore the "error" and publish the form anyway.  It works in the browser now!  Yea!  ...

  • predicate filters and repeating fields...

I have the following as the xpath for an expression box: concat("Total: ", string(sum(@value[@alias = "_MWP"]))) @value and @alias are attributes within a repeating field, but the predicate filter condition [@alias = "_MWP"] limits it to a single instance.  This works fine when I preview it, giving me ...

  • policy settings prevent opening internet forms with managed code

"Policy settings prevent opening Internet forms with managed code."  I'm getting this message on a standalone machine running WindowsXP Pro and Office 2007 (with the InfoPath client) when I try to open a form using the .xsn file that was created when I published the form (successfully) to a server running OFS.  I can open ...

  • Re: nil attribute and related errors

More information and correction... The connection with the nil attribute was merely coincidental. More experimentation shows that the ''white space'' problem shows up whenever I try to use XmlWriter.WriteNode(XPathNavigator, bool) passing in an XPathNavigator for a node that has a field which has not been assigned a value. Is this by design or ...

  • nil attribute and related errors

Hi, I have code in a browser-enabled form that clones a node to create a new sibling and then overwrites several values on the new node. On one of the fields I got the error, Schema validation found non-data type errors. I found a blog from the InfoPath team saying that the error could be caused by a nillable field. (Here is the link in case ...

  • Re: ScreenTip in browser-enabled form

Thanks for putting in a plug for this (programmatic access to the ScreenTip text) at the global summit, Matt. By the way, ScreenTips *do* in fact work in the browser without requiring a postback. The system I'm currently putting together is a ''reach-only'' solution. All access will be via browser with no clients using the InfoPath client.

  • ScreenTip in browser-enabled form

Hi, Is it possible to set the ScreenTip in code (other than for a button)? Currently I can use the designer to set the ScreenTip for a control to a text string. I have a repeating table that is bound to the main data source. In one of the columns I have a text box bound to a field. I would like to have the ScreenTip for the text box display ...

YEA!! That worked! Thanks for sticking with me on this, Greg. Thanks for your input as well, Clay. This should be documented somewhere... Myles

If this is not an appropriate topic for this forum, can anybody suggest a forum that might be more appropriate? Thanks!
