  • Re: Warning that SharePoint file have changed

That is the reference that I used. But I did forget to compare the Schema files. In the Schema1 comparison I see that the "Title" field in the upgraded file has "minLength=1" while the non upgraded file doesn not have that line ("maxLength" is 255 for both). A few weeks ago I was experimenting with data types in a ...

  • Re: Warning that SharePoint file have changed

I am pretty sure that I did not make any changes in the list. This has happened on multiple lists. The xml file compare seems to tell me that no fields were changed (in the "manifest" compare the only changes are numbers in those odd, long, header type rows) and none of the choices were changed(the "Choices" files match) , that ...

  • Warning that SharePoint file have changed

Hello, I have a number of InfoPath forms on SharePoint lists that are working well. However, often, when I click "Customize in InfoPath" to make a form adjustment I get the warning that "One or more fields have changed" in SharePoint, and asking if InfoPath should update to accommodate. This is very frightening. I didn't ...

  • Re: InfoPath web part opens wrong form for other users.

Thanks Hilary, Good instinct; it was a form load rule. I was restricting access and it didn't occur to me that that would affect a form load on a different page. In the meantime I discovered a new synergy: On the Home page we are now using a SharePoint list view web part, which works fine with the InfoPath forms and calls the InfoPath new ...

  • InfoPath web part opens wrong form for other users.

Hello again, I have a very odd problem. I have a list in Sharepoint with customized forms via InfoPath. One of the views in InfoPath is called Repeater. It displays all the records in the list via a secondary data source. Then on a different sharepoint page (the site homepage) I added an InfoPath form webpart and set it to display the Repeater ...

  • Re: Control rule annoyingly auto-populate on other forms

O.K. Your unequivocal statement of how action rules apply differently than formatting rules satisfies me. I'll use it as is. Yes, the rule setting the CompletionDate to now() is on the Status field. I did that instead of using a Default value. CompletionDate has no default value. The setup seems to work without hitches. Thanks

  • Re: Control rule annoyingly auto-populate on other forms

Well, having you say it shouldn't fire unless changed is comforting, and I may just leave it. However the formatting rule, with the same condition, does fire without changing the field (If Status is Completed make background green). I hope an InfoPath or Windows upgrade can't break my safety on this. Thanks

  • Control rule annoyingly auto-populate on other forms

This problem has annoyed me for long too long, so I'll report it. My SharePoint-InfoPath form has a field for "Status" (complete or not complete). On the new-item and edit form I created a rule on the control, so if the status is set to 'complete' the Completion Date field gets set to now(). The problem is that this rule gets ...

  • Re: Use SP Event Calendar with InfoPath

Thanks Hillary, The SharePoint is part of Office 365 (online, 32 bit). I have SharePoint Designer 2013. So far the only change I've made using Designer is to change 2 default fields in a Content Type from Optional to Hidden. Does 2013 sound like the best version of Designer for me? The solution you point to looks great, on the surface at ...

  • Use SP Event Calendar with InfoPath

Hi Again! I have an event calendar in SharePoint which I love because I can use calendar overlay to create a color-coded calendar to highlight the different categories. But there is no obvious "customize with InfoPath" on the ribbon. I need InfoPath to do field level restrictions to read-only for some users. Can I create an InfoPath ...
