• Re: Closing an InfoPath Form after Printing is complete

Sure Mike. If you open properties of a button and go to rules. Create a new rule. Go to actions and one of your options in the drop down is to close the form.

  • Re: InfoPath 2003 vs InfoPath2007

Yes you can create your own, but you realize the advantage of not recreating the wheel. DBXL, has years of development and refinement. And you can both query and submit to multiple tables. I beleive you can even go to seperate Databases, but I have not tried that specifically. that would be something to explore with them. Otherwise you ...

  • Re: InfoPath 2003 vs InfoPath2007

Hey Mark. This is a common scenario. I am guessing you are using ODC connections to databases and the limitations are driving you crazy. I have been there. Unfortunately a lot of those are still present with ODC connections in 2007. Using a SQL backend is the best way to go. If you want to do enterprise form ...

  • Re: list a field result in an expression box

Sure. Add an expression box and bind it to the name field in the secondary data that is used in your dropdown. Then add a filter ( in the lower left when picking the field) where your drop down value is equal to the ID in the secondary data. That will then display the name where ID matches what the one picked by the user. And it will ...

  • Re: Closing an InfoPath Form after Printing is complete

Try adding the close as an action. Code runs before rules if I remember correct. Otherwise you might need some delay action in your code to allow printing to complete before the close.

  • Re: Programmatically Repeat a Section or Table Based on Number of Characters in a Text Field

I think you could probably do this without code too. You obviously would need one large text box and then a repeating node with 10 rows of 65 characters each. I would have an rowID field and then the small text field. So on the main view they add their text blob. When finished they select a button. You set field actions to populate the ...

  • Re: http link control ?

Hi Guillermo. You can have them just paste the link into a text field which then you could bind a hyperlink control to. If they always save it in a set location they could just put the file name and the rest could default. If you want them to be able to browse out to a file, you would need code and full-trust and greatly complicate the ...

  • Re: Add dynamic records to Repeating table on button click using c#

It is possible, I would check the devlepors reference guide but why bother when Infopath already has controls for doing such a task. Typically in Infopath the user would just build the repeating list with the built in controls. Put drop downs in the three field in a repeating table. They set the first row, then insert a new row and pick the ...

  • Re: Slow loading forms

Hey Ed You could have two versions. If you have local file servers, maybe with the same mapped drive letter, you could then have a common path for the source data at each location. If the form is comming via email, they have a local copy in Outlook, it is the secondary data that is being pulled across the atlantic which would be the ...

  • Re: A unique report number that starts over every year

I am not sure how you are generating you sequential number but you should be able to detect when the year has changed and reset it. If you look at previous numbers then again use a substring function to analyze whether the year has changed from the last saved and if so reset.
