This thread has a few of the missing pieces, might be helpful.

  • Digital Certificate Renewal Procedure

Given a situation where a deployed form is signed with a digital certificate which is also installed/deployed to the workstations where said form is invoked, is there a means to renew a certificate such that the deployed form will not require ''update'' to function with the new certificate. I am not responsible for registration of certificates ...

  • Re: Repeating Table - Initialize new Row

Is there a reason why this does not work via rules applied to a repeating section? I have tried a rule on the repeating section (ie new inserts) to copy the value from the immediately preceding section related control to the related control in the new section. Using preceding-sibling the result always returns the original first row control ...

  • Re: Launch infopath form with a winform

There is always the interop as well, just a quick example. The unfortunate issue that I find with the interop and infopath is the lack of an exit or quit event, unlike word or excel etc. Makes it somewhat difficult to detect the exit of the application. Of course you can then use API functions such as FindWindow to grab the handle and then setup ...

  • Re: Launch infopath form with a winform

You may also want to use some basic menu API functions to remove any controls or menu fuctions that you do not want the user to have access to. Below is a quick launch of infopath and handle to capture exit event. Edit the xml query fields in the xml before you launch infopath, then just supply the xml as a argument as below. Beware also that ...

  • Re: updating data connections during deployment

Just for reference on future forms, for web development in general I usually switch my hosts file ''C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc'' to point to my development server(local or otherwise) using the same domain name etc that is used on the production servers. That way the forms remain consistent with the same url, just change your host file to ...

  • Preserve WhiteSpaces after class is serialized

This is more of a general question regarding VS.Net web services in general. I am familiar with the ability to preserve whitespaces in an xmldocument. Curious if anyone here has any idea how to preserve the whitespaces for a particular class property which when serialized is stripped of any whitespaces. I would like to preserve the string ...

  • Re: Web Service Limitations

This appears to be one of those ''Best Practice'' issues that I have been encountering as I test InfoPath's various development solutions. Correct me if I am off base, but it seems that using Web Services to pass DataSets to InfoPath encounters significant limitations as described above for reasons to maintain a reusable format for return ...

  • Re: Problem with Toolkit for VS.Net

Perhaps this will help.... In reference to the .Net Programmability, that is an optional feature for the office applications. When installing MS Office itself, be sure and verify under the optional components or custom setup that the option in question is installed to disk. I believe this option exists under each office application, Word, Excel, ...

  • Re: Data Connections Best Practices

After testing various solutions I have found the direct ado connection difficult to implement in dynamic environments. Overall annoying to distribute and maintain forms against database changes. Overall I am leaning toward the data services separation from the UI via web services. Appreciate the extra views on the topic. Thanks, John
