Turns out the problem was expired security certificates on SharePoint Front-End servers. (*sigh*)

I have many production InfoPath Service forms on running on SharePoint 2010 (no code). Something has happened to our SharePoint farm over the weekend, and now all calls to GetUserProfileByName are generating an error:
"You do not have permissions to access a web service that provides data required for this form to function ...

I have been doing the same thing for years: Publish a browser-enabled InfoPath 2010 form
template to a SharePoint 2010 Site Content Type (SCT), then associate that STC
to one or more form libraries. Works
fairly well. I do have to be careful if
I create another STC that uses the same columns – I must be sure to promote ...

Hi. For what it's worth, I've used same process (I think, it was called "Using CAML to Update List Items") and have run into same error on occasion. The error seems more likely to occur when server is busy - some kind of time limitation seems to get in the way. I can put 25 items in my repeating table and ...

When I do a file compare this time, it looks like there are a lot of differences. I hope these are comparable manifests -- have to admit I am struggling to ...

Thank you Hilary. Attachment attached :)
I think the corruption happens only on my local copy after a publish. If I click SAVE before I click PUBLISH, seems to help.
I'm so appreciative of all the support ya'll provide. --Susan

I have one IP 2010 form that, after I change its design, all of the Action Rules disappear for the buttons. The form is published to a Site Content type, in a location with versioning, so thankfully I can retrieve the last known-good copy. If I Export Source Files and file compare the known-good manifest with a corrupted manifest, ...

Yes, it works! Thought that error was a show-stopper - so glad it's safe to ignore. Thanks again!
