Hi Julie,
I sent this to someone else after they contacted me from this thread. I emailed them with some images as examples, let me know if this helps you and if you're still unsure then I'll try to help more:
I also have a little test site to show people that updates choice fields based on users answers to a previous choice ...

Hi donstephen,
I am using a Custom List, then editing the form in InfoPath using the "Customize Form" button from List options. We also have to avoid where possible using complex code and such as we're not getting support for custom things when we are updated - we're due to update soon to SP2013. As always, there's a ...

Hi donstephen,
What I did was to set InfoPaths submit options to Leave the form open after submit, then I created two buttons and made rules on them. One of them will "Submit Using Data Connection: Main Data Connection", then clears the values in all fields by means of set field value to "" for each field (I know, ...

Hi all,
I'm creating an InfoPath form that Submits to a SharePoint List in 2010 and will be used by a team of people inputting data. Sometimes they need to input lots of records that are almost identical to each other except for maybe one field.

I have the same issue at times reading techie solutions..! I'm one of those people who need to understand exactly what I'm doing and why rather than to follow some step by step process blindly. No problem Patrick, I appreciate your advice and help. I'll keep that in mind if I do this sort of thing again.
I'm really happy with my form now, it's working great and doing exactly what I need really quickly and smooth. I've learned a lot doing this project.

Hi!
My resolution for this ended up being me creating some single line of text fields (that I didn't display on my form but were in the list) and then applying a rule that set their value to whatever was picked in the lookup list.
I'm sure it's not the most perfect way to do it but it didn't cause me great stress to have these ...

Hey Patrick,
I get some error when I try to do that saying I can't bind a non repeating control to a repeating table.
It wants me to make it repeating but because my form is only going to return single records I don't want a repeating table I just want a field. I am also worried by using the filtering idea you specified above I ...

It looks like nobody has any ideas so far and this remains a thorn in my side. I'll take a good look around and post back if I find the answer in case it helps anyone else in the future.
