• Re: Editing forms with a repeating table from SharePoint list

That's no Newbie question, as far as I can tell! It isn't possible OOTB to populate a repeating section/list from a secondary list/library without code or the qDabra add in. I have the same situation atm which entails responding to an unknown number of questions and keeping the response somewhere for future ...

  • Re: Button to proceed to the next record

Interesting question. I think I understand what you want, present one view of a current record, allow the user to fill it in and submit, then display the next record until all records are complete? (and this could possibly happen out order) It is possible, using secondary data sources, and lots of web services data connections and ...

  • Re: Trials of developing using out of the box SP 2010 lists and workflows … or … searching for useful tutorials on use of InfoPath 2010 forms to replace SharePoint 2010 list item forms

You've obviously hit a wall here... Sharepoint Lists will always dynamically render a dialog that encapsulates all the fields in the list, when you customise that form you are on your own from there on in. Not sure about the 'lookup columns' issues but I think you should be able to do that in an InfoPath form. What are you ...

  • Re: require resolved people picker?

Couldn't you stop them doing anything else, including switching views, if they didn't enter a proper person in the people picker? The people picker has a property called 'Display Name' (not at my normal PC so i think thats it) so you add that as a pre requisite condition that allows you to do anything else in your ...

  • Re: Insert data to Microsoft Excel from Infopath form

You will need to have your InfoPath form submit to a list(maybe the same document library but I wouldn't suggest that), each time you submit a form to that list it will be inserted row by row, that is then the list that you can use in excel using the data connection which will get all the new rows from the list for analysis

  • Re: Insert data to Microsoft Excel from Infopath form

Why wouldn't you submit the data from the infopath form into a SharePoint list, then you can export the SharePoint list as a data connection to Excel. This will allow your to use excel to report on the data in the list. You can also have the excel file in the Excel Web App Web Part and have it perform async refresh.

  • Re: Question regarding caluculated value field

It isn't possible to format calculated values in that way. If you wanted to format a value that you don't want to keep in your main data source, you could use a secondary data source from an XML file and use that instead then you would be able to add rules to format the value box however you wanted it to display. Being a ...

  • Re: InfoPath Attachment Limitation

Hi, I've been able to use the /_vti_bin/imaging.asmx web service to upload picture files directly from infopath into a picture library, I'm pretty sure that either the /_vti_bin/Lists.asmx or /_vti_bin/Copy.asmx web services will allow you to upload documents in a pretty similar fashion. IT is definatelty achievable through using the web ...

  • Re: Insert Repeating section with a rule

If you want to create a repeating table within your form this requires code or qRules (as previously stated). The log is then maintained within each form and you have to open each form to see what has occured. Alternatively you could create a separate list that has a 'log' item added to it whenever a change occurs to ...

  • Re: create a workflow in sharepoint designer to send an email to the email address located in the form

I don't have a connection to a domain at the moment so I'm flying dry and will post more info/screenshots tomorrow (if necessary). Generally, whenever I have used the 'workflow lookup for user' functionality, I have always intentionally used the 'Display Name' of the person I wanted to send the email address to (extracted ...
