• Re: Main datasource and different queries

This sounds eerily similar to my issue http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=71 I basically had to rethink my process. Instead of having the first Dropdownlist(DDL1) call the second Dropdownlist(DDL2) which in turn returned the datafields, I combined the contents of DDL1 and DDL2 into one DDL and called the datafields. Hope ...

  • Re: Date Picker required!

I was out sick yesterday....It may take me about an hour to get my thoughts together....I just posted something, and when I went back to view it, of course, it didn't get posted. Anyway... What about my comment: * if you don't make it optional, it won't work (if the field starts non-null it'll be compulsory if you try blanking it, and if it ...

  • UCASE and LCASE

Would like to see this as an option in the functions, so that I won't have to write code for this.

  • Re: Update vs Insert...

The first question would be when InfoPath submits the form, how does it know if it will be an Update or Insert? Rambling ---> Please don't say, because you selected the ''Insert Item'' option on the form. This definately will not be good enough, or maybe it could be if I knew what the name of the flag was so that I could turn it on if MyID ...

  • Re: Date Picker required!

What I'm currently doing is attacking the dataset over in the Web Service. For instance, if they do not enter a date, I am populating the date with ''19000101T00:00:00''. In InfoPath: Dim myNode As IXMLDOMNode = thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode(NodeForMainDataSource & ''Date1'') If myNode.text = '''' Then ...

  • Re: Update vs Insert...

is your submit attached to a webservice or direct to the SQL db? Web Service 1. I think you have a 1-to-0-or-1 (Table1 to Table2) relationship. I assume the correct ''model'' for this in IP is that Table2 should be an ''Optional Section''. Have you tried that? Thoughts: I actually have a stored procedure that gets the contents of one table ...

  • Re: Date Picker required!

Before we go any further, could you please clarify what you want/allow in your DB? NULLs are allowed in my date fields. Thus, they are not required. What does ''blank'' mean? Currently, when I select a record, the Date Picker doesn't have anything in it. I want to keep it that way (unless, of course, they select a date). SQL can't store a ...

  • Re: Date Picker required!

I just checked out your reply, and figured out the solution (not sure how though). Anyway, back to the topic at hand....Compulsory ahhhh...reminds me of the old Doc1 days with iterations, etc....(hated it!!!!). Also, I forgot to mention, I currently have set the Tools --> Form Options --> Edit Default Values --> my originally green ...

  • Re: Update vs Insert...

I have no problem doing this within the code, but I'm not sure of where and what to put into the code. I'm using VB.Net. I have a section already set up for the Submit --> <InfoPathEventHandler(MatchPath:=''CTRLSubmit'', EventType:=InfoPathEventType.OnClick)> _ Public Sub CTRLSubmit_OnClick(ByVal e As DocActionEvent) ...

  • Update vs Insert...

I have a scenario that I'm using 2 tables. The record always exists in Table 1, but, may or may not exist in Table 2. My query dropdown is based on Table 1. When this is selected the Data Information is populated. The Data Information may or may not consist of data from Table 2, depending on whether or not data has been entered into Table 2. ...
