  • Determine in SharePoint/InfoPath Designer if "Save" button was clicked as opposed to "Submit"

We know that we can assign rules and logic to a browser form's Submit action, but what about "Save"? Per my project's business requirements, if a form is not yet complete and was saved (aka submitted but partially complete), it needs to set a SharePoint column to something different than if it was Submitted. Is this possible?

  • Re: Data Connection will not connect to SharePoint subsite (but parent sites can be accessed!)

This is definitely an InfoPath issue with data connections. ALL of my data connections are broken. I know this because creating a new data connection by going to "Add" allows me to access the site where my form was published to without any problem or any login prompts. Now I have to recreate each of them while referring to a backup. Why ...

  • Re: Data Connection will not connect to SharePoint subsite (but parent sites can be accessed!)

I know I have sufficient permissions for two reasons: one is because I was able to publish fine up until today, and secondly because I have admin level "full control" SP permissions on this site. It may have something to do with the Use Profile Service not working correctly though...it may be a SharePoint issue.

  • Data Connection will not connect to SharePoint subsite (but parent sites can be accessed!)

I'm setting up a Data Connection in my InfoPath form but it refuses to connect and show me the available lists in that site.It shows me a login prompt and all my valid logins do not work and it gives the error "Unable to connect to the SharePoint site." At the same time, I can select lists from sites directly ...

  • Re: Browser form not opening in browser?

My mistake, as I suspected the library wasn't configured correctly. The only reason for this is because I am transferring the form to a new library in a new environment, so it was configured properly before but I forgot to enable one setting in the new environment: 1. Go to the Form Library's settings in SP 2010 2. Click Advanced ...

  • Browser form not opening in browser?

I know this has been asked already, but wasn't able to find the answer yet. I have done some basic checks to make sure my form is a browser form, but for some reason clicking on the Document Library's "Add document" button still opens the InfoPath form in a separate InfoPath instance instead of the browser. Any ideas on how to ...

  • Re: Any ideas on how to created a Weekly TimSheet

As for the source fields that your form will map to, yes you may be looking at having to create each time slot manually. The initial effort may be large, but after that infrastructure is in then you can have more flexibility in how you design your logic for calculating totals for a day, for the whole week, etc. If you go with repeating sections ...

  • Re: Tip for re-binding sections and fields

No problem Hilary :) I have accidentally done this as well several times and hopefully this will help me remember how to do it properly from now on. This is for InfoPath 2010 though, not sure if it's any different in other versions...

  • Tip for re-binding sections and fields

Here's a little tidbit that may save some of you a lot of wasted time (I learned this the hard way): If you ever need to change the binding of fields and sections for whatever reason (due to sections breaking, data connection changes, field name changes, re-arranging sections, etc.), then be certain to re-bind your sections outside-in, ...

  • Re: Can fields be used in a text box?

Why not concat? I have created longer strings than the one you show using it. The function creator allows little room for error so I usually take that route instead of xpath.
