  • re: Allow Offline Use of a SharePoint List by Caching Locally

Hi Lalato, Sorry for the late reply.  One catch with this tutorial is that data stored in a secondary data connection is not saved across sessions.  So, each time you open InfoPath, the data in the 2DS is reverted to how it was when the template was originally created. There is no way to edit the template to include the new data at ...

  • Re: Access Denied problem

Hi Alphamax, Does this happen consistently or only sometimes?  Do you have DBXL installed alongside SharePoint, or are you just trying to pull the form template down from SharePoint?  What has changed since yesterday?  Sorry for the questions, I'm just not sure how to begin debugging your problem.  Maybe the following ...
  • Re: SQL Count Function

Hi Steve, You need to look at the XML that is stored in the 2DS.  If you type this SQL directly into the wizard that you use to create the connection to your database, then you will have a view of the XML returned, but if you cannot, then you need to get at it programmatically.  For web services this is accessed via the OutputLocation ...

  • Re: SQL Question(Group By)

Hi Steve, The error message is troubling and it might mean InfoPath does not understand the Group By clause.  However, you do have a problem with the query. When using the Group By clause, you must include all columns that you select.  So, in your query, you must either remove ECAM from the select statement, or add it in the group by ...

  • Re: Question regarding Email submit button

Hi Ulysse and welcome to the forums! Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to this.  You could try making a command-line utility in C# that takes the data as parameters and then sends the e-mail.  However, this would require your form to be Full Trust. A better way to do it would be to create (or maybe find) a web service that ...

  • Re: Order By clause in the Shape command

    Hi Steve,  Here's the solution:    command += "{select * "; command += "from "; command += "[LaborSummary] as [LaborSummary] "; command += "where (LaborSummary.[CA1] = '" + ca1Prefix + "')} "; command += "append "; command += "({select * "; ...

  • Re: cascading dropdowns

Ouch.  If filters don't work, you will have a tough time getting cascading drop-downs to work.  I'll ask our resident IPFS expert to comment on any possible workarounds.

  • Re: Notification on Save to Host? Forms Services

Maybe I am exposing my ignorance here, but why wouldn't the OnSave event work?

  • Re: Infopath Form Services Error

Hi tariks and welcome to the forum! If you are using InfoPath 2007 you can use the Design Checker (located in the Tools menu) to determine the areas of your form with compatability problems. Can you give us an error message or more details on what is broken?
