• Re: InfoPath template moved fromm the published location

Hello Jean, You are correct since in your case, since the form is exactly the same and just moving to a new server. You can manually modify the HREF attribute at the top of the XML file to verify that putting in the new server location works. The Modify InfoPath PI tool provides a user-friendly way of changing the URL reference to the new ...

  • Re: Sort a Repeating Table

Yes, the Asset Tracking example from InfoPath 2003 does have code to do this and you can leverage that in your solution. Unfortuantely the InfoPath 2007 Asset Tracking solution does not have this because the design point for the InfoPath 2007 samples was to not use any code. Sorting items in InfoPath currently requires code. You can get a ...

  • Re: InfoPath form from an existing Data Source

You're welcome. To do what you want you will have to custom-craft the xpath to select the correct item from the FormData repeater. This is because you are in the Main datasource repeating context and so when you bind the other node it has no information on how to pick up the FormData secondary datasource repeater information and render it. I ...

  • Re: InfoPath form from an existing Data Source

Hello, Modifying schema created when starting from a database or other data connection: You can do this. Just right-click on the very top node in the Data Source tree and click Add. I always suggest adding a group node that is something like "ViewLogic" or "FormData" and then put all your custom nodes in there. In that way you ...

  • Re: disable delete repeating section

Rereading this post I wanted to address one other point. The issue you're having indeed may be because of the optional choice before the item. I would try a test with a very simple repeating schema to verify.

  • Re: Issues with published fields in sharepoint 2007

The fastest way to get this to work is to go to the Explorer view in SharePoint, select all the xml files, copy them then paste to a folder on your desktop. Then again copy all the files from the folder on your desktop and resave them to SharePoint. Then all the properties will be reextracted from the files. This is indeed a lame limitation ...

  • Best way to Link to Forms on Web Pages

Whenever you want to expose your forms on a web page the tendency is to want to put a plain hyperlink to your XSN form template or XML file. The problem with this ranges from getting lame IE download dialogs all the time to data loss scenarios (see below). The correct way is to do it the way SharePoint does it. You want to use script to call ...

  • HotFix: Saving to Temporary Internet Files

When opening a form (XML) from a web page InfoPath tends to want to save the file back to the temporary internet files directory instead of asking you to save it to my documents. Occassionally saving to the temp locaion can work in your system design, but it can be problemmatic in some instances. The worst is on Vista where it won't even save ...

  • HotFix: Font size changes on paste

When you copy text from a Rich Text box in InfoPath 2007 to another Rich Text box on a form, the pasted text is in a different font size than expected. We have worked with Microsoft on this issue and they have release a hotfix for it here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/939605/.
