• Re: DBXL install on SP 2013 farm

The DBXL v2.8 .NET 4 installer is required if using SharePoint 2013. We do not yet have a standalone ADWS installer for SharePoint 2013 at this time, but you can install and configure ADWS to use the SharePoint app pool. The asmx page will give a 500 error when launched, but you can manually fixup the web.config by removing the ...

  • Re: Active Directory not working

It does appear you have the DBXL version of the Active Directory service. The virtual directory for the standalone ADWS will have just AdUserInfo.asmx. DBXL will list about 16 asmx files in the folder. The standalone does not require adding a license, but the DBXL version does. Open the event viewer and look for the Qdabra eventlog ...

  • Re: Browser Form Deployment Issues

Is the query used to get data for validation, or populate some dropdowns? For validation, you can do filtered queries based on other form input to reduce the data returned but still perform the validation. And remember, with a browser form, all the data you retrieve is kept as part of the form state on the server. Multiply this by the ...

  • Re: Workflow stuck in Starting state

  • Re: Initial submit to DBXL linked to SharePoint doc library

SubmitAsUser will submit to SharePoint using the specified user account. You will need to use the InfoPath username() function to properly identity the current user. Are you needing to submit to DBXL? SubmitAsUser saves only to SharePoint. You can use the DBXL SubmitDocumentAsUser web method if needing to submit to ...

Did you happen to create the workflow using the system account? If you did, you will need to edit and save the workflow using a domain account with the necessary permissions on the site.

  • Re: How to edit a Data Connection (.udcx) file to add embedded credentials

Before going into details of how to use explicit credentials, I want to make sure you are aware of the drawbacks. Users must have read permission to the UDCX in order to have permissions to use the credentials. This means that users will have permission to see the username/password if they discover the path to the udcx. ...

  • Multiple Credential Prompts

You may have come across SharePoint sites where you get repeated credential prompts. Or, you get prompted multiple times setting up a data connection in your InfoPath form. This issue cropped up with the introduction of Windows Vista and continues on with Windows 7 and most likely Windows 8. The issue involves a fully qualified ...
