  • Re: Mandatory vs Non-Mandatory field

We did it using a SharePoint Designer workflow. See attached for how we did it.

  • Re: Mandatory vs Non-Mandatory field

If the Manager Name (people picker) is a required field, is there a way to say if the Vehicle Registration form is selected, to set the Manager Name field to "null", or not required? Right now, everything requested on the form, including those other embedded forms, require a Manager Name. The only form that does not require a Manager ...

  • Re: Mandatory vs Non-Mandatory field

Hi Hilary, thanks. We can't do this because the Manager's name is mandatory for several other form types that are on the same form where it is required. The "ManagerName" field is a people-picker. Could we do this in SharePoint Designer somehow?

  • Mandatory vs Non-Mandatory field

On our form we have integrated several forms that used to be separate, now all on one form that appear when you select the form from a drop-down list. All of the integrated forms except for one requires a manager approval, a required field, or you cannot submit the form. One of the forms is for Vehicle Registration which does not require a ...

  • Re: Cannot show Created By or Submitted by on form

It does not show after the form is submitted (otherwise I wouldn't be writing this, lol)

  • Cannot show Created By or Submitted by on form

After a person submits a form, how can I show the 'Created by' or 'Submitted by' on the form? I tried adding the Submitted by field but it is blank when the form is submitted. I can see the 'Created by' column in my document library with the name of the person who created the form, but I can't get this name to show up ...

  • Re: Problem with validation rules

I solved my problem! On the Date date picker, I created a new Validation Rule that says, if the End Date is blank and the Reason equals Termination, then make the End Date required. I was doing it the other way, where on the date picker, I said if the Reason equals Termination, then make the End Date required. Silly me. :)

  • Re: Problem with validation rules

Hi Hilary, yes, this is a web form. I use validation rules on other items in the same form and they seem to work fine. Are you limited to the number of validation rules you can have in one form? Thanks for your file, I did look it over and it appears to be the exact same thing I'm trying to do.

  • Problem with validation rules

In my form, if someone selects "Termination" as the Reason, I want the "End Date" to become required. As soon as I set the rule to make that field a required field, no one can enter a form even if they put an end date in that field. It gets a dashed red line around the box, indicating that the field requires a value, even ...

  • Re: How do I display a Completed date/time in a column or page?

Hi Hilary, thanks for the quick reply. No, it doesn't require versioning to be turned on, we use forms every day where they are checked out and in and they don't require versioning. I was hoping to capture the date and time that the form was checked in and display that in a column, but if it can't be done I just need confirmation, ...
