• Re: Infopath 2003 Stored Procedures in Visual Basic .NET

I'm am also having a weird output here when I use my database data connection. On preview mode, I can draw data from my database data connection based on the table it is tagged to. However once I launch my form from server (go to DBXL and use the link to open form), I can no longer draw any data from my database DC. It seems I cannot ...

Hi Hilary, I have the same question here. When we need to have a data connection for this case, what you are saying is we can just create a Database data connection, select a database and its table and while this makes the data connection limited to the table, we can use code to run select statements to another table? I'm also have ...

  • Possible to use Outlook vote buttons for InfoPath forms?

Hi, I'm wondering if it is possible to integrate MS Outlook's voting buttons to InfoPath forms? As in, in Outlook, we can send emails with voting options. Can we configure any integration where InfoPath forms can be submitted using a click of a voting button? Has anyone tried that? Thanks!

  • Re: Exporting Data to Excel

Hi Victoria, Any luck with your export? I am trying to do the same thing now. Export my filtered secondary data (displayed as a repeating table on my form) to Excel on a click of a button. Export seem to work for only form data and not Secondary data sources.

  • Re: How to submit a form as a new version instead of as a new form in DBXL?

Hi Partrick, Yep, we should be checking out qRules soon. In the meantime, can I check if qRules or any rules can be used to solve my following problem? I have a form that will have multiple correspondence between parties and I need each "case" to have a RequestID. So on form initiation, a RequestID is generated. It has ...

  • Re: Customizing InfoPath error messages

Hi Patrick, Is there a way to extend the timeout period for webservice connections across the board? I have many many webservice calls in this form, say 15. And that is why for some of the more sophiscated calls, I can get a timeout during the heavy traffic period of the day. Regarding the "Rules cannot be applied" message, how do you ...

  • Customizing InfoPath error messages

Hi, I'm just wondering if it is possible to customize InfoPath error messages? The standard message, "Some rules were not applied", isn't very intuitive and the detailed message can be rather generic and confusing to users. Is it possible to change this message somewhere? For example, if it is a timeout issue, just inform users ...

  • Re: How to submit a form as a new version instead of as a new form in DBXL?

I see, thanks for the link Patrick. However, is it possible to refresh the DocID on a form I sent out as an email? Reason is because my form is using DocID for versioning. I used a generated GUID to identify my forms before they are sent out as emails to recipents. On receipt and opening the form, the recipent now has a form of higher DocID ...

  • Re: How to submit a form as a new version instead of as a new form in DBXL?

"Even then, the link seems to be only able to point to the latest version. Can't do much version tracking like this. Or did I miss out some auditing function?" On this note, I found out that if we were to use doclink and send it to users, their updates are registered as new versions of the DocID and the version no. will ...

  • Re: How to submit a form as a new version instead of as a new form in DBXL?

Hi, Yes, the email did submit as new each time. Was wondering how the versioning in DBXL can be made use of? The only way I can think of is to generate emails from SQL agent after the form has been committed to DBXL and paste the DBXL::Link in the email. Even then, the link seems to be only able to point to the latest version. Can't do much ...
