• Re: How to submit a form as a new version instead of as a new form in DBXL?

Hi Patrick, Once again I revisited this issue to try and reset my form's docID even if I opened the form from the documents tab in DBXL. I've tried Jimmy's method from his blog you provided but met with no success. I left him a comment (which is pasted below). Shall wait for his reply but decided to update this post for future ...

  • re: Saving Forms as New to DBXL

Hi Jimmy, I tried using your code method but my forms are still submitted as a new version instead of as a new docid. I placed the code below on my form's loading event and then opened a submitted form from DBXL and resubmitted the form. The end result was the newly submitted form was submitted as a new version of the original docID. Did I miss ...

  • Re: DBXL database mapping

Hi Guys, Just wondering, am I supposed to add the '@' symbol as well? Because when I do that, my document can't be reshredded. I had to use this for my nodepath: /my:myFields/my:Form_Container/my:CreateGroup/my:CreateGroupContainer[my:New_GroupCode!= ''] then it works fine. Thanks for your help guys!

  • Re: DBXL database mapping

Hi Jimmy, Yup, I figured that out regarding the [] and yes it worked! This is a very useful feature, how come they didn't mention this conditional shredding in the user manual? Or did I miss it? Anyway, rem my previous xpath? Where it ends with a ignore empty node condition? my:Manager_Engagements_NotGrouped[. != ''] Can I ...

  • Re: DBXL database mapping

Hi Jim, Currently I have something like this, /my:myFields/my:Form_Container/my:CreateGroup as my node path to my table. Are you saying I can alter it to this: /my:myFields/my:Form_Container/@my:CreateGroup='1' Where '1' can be a hidden field(creategroup) value and when I click on my submit button I can set a value for ...

  • Re: Inserting multi selection to database via DBXL

Hi Jimmy, My two multi selection list boxes are populated by a secondary data source to my database and thus shows current table data. My button swaps selections from both boxes and re-receives data from their respective tables to show the updated selections. Is this swapping possible without a database commit? ie, I only want to see my ...

  • Deleting DBXL forms

Hi, Just discovered that when I deleted my submited forms in DBXL, the inserted database rows are rolled-back. ie, the rows created by my form submission where deleted. Is this an expected behaviour of DBXL? Quite bad if someone accidentally does a select all, delete...

  • DBXL database mapping

Hi, Just wondering, how are database mappings in DBXL detected? My form has 3 sections where each section is exclusive to each other (meaning each section serves an independent function, for example, create approval form, delete approval request and modify request form) and when triggered by their respective button clicks, will allow users to ...

  • Re: Inserting multi selection to database via DBXL

Hi Jimmy, As I replied to Hilary, "I guess I'll use a table trigger to do my updates, but nonetheless, I'm keen to find out what statements can I replace my command with? Insert statements? If I didn't remember wrongly, I did try to run a stored proc before but similarly, it did not execute. Could it be because my SP has an ...

Hi Hilary, Just read Jimmy's reply and yes formdb..group is my table name. I guess I'll use a table trigger to do my updates, but nonetheless, I'm keen to find out what statements can I replace my command with? Insert statements? If I didn't remember wrongly, I did try to run a stored proc before but similarly, it did not ...
