Is it possible to run a copytable command with a filter?
Yes -- add the filter to the /row parameter: my:myFields/my:group1/my:group2[my:Name='itemToCopy']
Is this added to the source row, or dest row parameter?

That looks like it is indeed the problem. I have a seperate test form that has the same table and rules. When I add a calculated value above the table, the form will no longer publish. This is good to know.
I worked around it by adding a text box to filter with (conditional formatting) and setting the text box with ...

Here's what the ULS viewer gives me -

It's a browser form.
The reason I would like to filter instead of format is -
The filter or condition is based off of a drop-down outside of the table in the form. The users choose the drop-down, click a button, a table is copied over, and the only rows that are shown are rows that have a field that matches the ...

However, if I applly conditional formatting to do the same exact thing, I don't get any error.
Any suggestions?

I was talking to a SharePoint developer today and she said, "Don’t get buried *too* deep in infopath as it has a reputation in some circles as being a dying tool. ".
What do you think about that?
Seems that if Microsoft increased it's flexibility by incorporating InfoPath directly into SharePoint 2010 with the list forms, they ...

It appears the copy table is lagging. It takes over 2 minutes, even when I am hiding the entire table.
Since the form is so large, does the order of the groups and nodes in the schema make a difference? The repeating table in question is about 10 groups down the list in my data tree. That's the biggest ...

So here's what I did . . . I re-created this section of my form in a new, test form. This problem table in my original form is on a different view of a much larger, multi-view form. When I recreate this table in a test form, with the copy and set values and the formatting and everything, it works great. No lag over 10 ...

I'd test that - download a category with fewer items (if you don't have one, perhaps you can create one? Or limit the number of rows some other way?)
That is, simulate the scenario. Is the performance what you need?

Yes, a smaller category in my table (15 items) performs ...
