  • Re: How do I make a multiple paged form fillable within the browser

I guess the requirement is to have "multiple pages" in browser forms, so the approach you are suggesting cannot (unfortunately) be applied. :-) Ciao Claudio Brotto MCP, MCAD.NET, MCSD.NET, MCTS SharePoint, MCT http://blogs.devleap.com/devlizard

As a small addition and a little gotcha, also remember that if you do not provide in each view a way to go back to the previous one (sort of a forward only wizard) you might incur in validation issues, if you have a required field editable in a view that is no more reachable :-) So you probably have to ensure that no invalid data is inserted upon ...

  • Re: VSTA and code behind trying to publish to a sharepoint list and open in a browser

Ciao bradyw, if you want to embed code in in IP template, it must run in "full-trust" mode. This is due to the fact that code is potentially dangerous. That's why you cannot publish the form as is to a server running Forms Services. If you wish to use your form via browser, you need to ensure the security level (Form Options) is ...

  • Re: Link to the attachment

Ciao andyoye :-) I will definitely work on this, since I think it's quite an interesting issue. I just have to find some free-time to package it all. So stay tuned :-) Ciao

I'm glad you could solve your issues.  And ... yes, InfoPath is sometimes quite "surprising" ... and also quite a powerful tool IMHO. Ciao

  • Re: Can IP 2007 submit it's data to a sharepoint list?

Hi Julie :-) CAML stands for Collaborative Application Markup Language. It's an XML syntax you can use to express *lots* of things related to SharePoint: queries, entities definition (lists, views, fields, content types ...), even the way things get rendered in the browser. Plus, you can use CAML to express a "command" that con be ...

  • Re: Link to the attachment

Attachments are not stored in the database, they are embedded as BASE64 strings inside the InfoPath XML document you create. They can be extracted (i.e. the BASE64 string can be decoded and the file stream can be infered from that). Please note that IP adds a small header at the top of the decoded file stream. Here you can find a couple of ...

  • Re: Link to the attachment

Hi Thomas. During a recent project I have been developing a solution that: Lets you add attachments to forms (also working on Broswer Forms) Upon a triggered action (be it the submit event, or a subsequent implicit/explicit action on the form document from the sharepoint library it is stored inside) attachments are extracted and ...

  • Re: Can InfoPath manage this?

Spudy, 3K fields of data is sure quite a huge size :-) However, the load time and, more generally, a comfortable handling of form data can be achieved by splitting up controls in different views. This way, the rendering engine can display small chunks of information at a time, which can dramatically increase the form performance. I'm saying ...

  • Re: Infopath Added Field is not displaying in Sharepoint List

Are you publishing the template straight to a form library or as a content type ? If you publish a form as a content type, your newly added fields are not implicitly added to the view(s) of the libraries where you have "attached" your content type. You simplly have to go and edit the view for your libraries (you can do this via ...
