  • Re: VB Script accessing Secondary Data XML Sources

Good afternoon,  Thank you very much for the testing code - I had done some testing previously to see if I could at least write, but this allowed me to troubleshoot further.  The main error of DestinationField.text = MatchingXMLField.text was due to the fact that they were based off of ['" & Field1Value & ...

  • Re: VB Script accessing Secondary Data XML Sources

Thank you Jimmy, I have set this up and all works fine until it gets to the last line: DestinationField.text = MatchingXMLField.text When doing this, I generate an error saying "Object Required for MatchingXMLField.text" I have tried various methods such as dropping the .text with no luck.  So essentially the destination field ...

  • VB Script accessing Secondary Data XML Sources

Good afternoon, I am developing a form where I want to set a fields value to the default selection only if the form is new.  When the form is opened after it has been saved, I want that same field to display the selected value instead of the default value.  I have been given the code for the "isNew" function in vbscript ...

  • Re: Drop-Down List Default Values and Conditional Formatting

Thank you for your response. For "default value" I would like to have this equal the "xpath" value where the "xml resource(secondary source) field CONDITION1" and "Condition 2" apply but I can't seem to write out the code correctly to access the secondary source correctly   Essentially I would ...

  • Re: Drop-Down List Default Values and Conditional Formatting

Thank you for your quick response.  If I perform the steps you selected, anytime I open up the form to view (after submitting) the value ties back to the default value rather than keeping the value that was selected.   This was the primary reason I went away from setting the default value.  Also, the blank value can be removed ...

  • Drop-Down List Default Values and Conditional Formatting

Hello, I have a form where I have a drop down list connecting to an XML resource file.  In this list I have setup various conditional formatting options if certain values are selected.  I have also wanted to remove the default blank space that accompanies drop down lists.  I have found the way to extract the form files, and edit ...

  • Re: Removing Template fields without Affecting existing InfoPath Forms

Thank you Clay.  I figured it would be best to leave them in there, but mentioned to a customer that I would look into this.  Looking forward to the SP2007 and InfoPath!

  • Custom SQL Data Connection writing to repeating Table

I have an InfoPath 2003 form that talks with a SQL Database.  Because of the size of the database (numerous tables with many, many thousands of entries) I exprience lag times if I use the "out-of-box" data connection functionality. I have been able to make the data connections based on certain values I select using Vbscript.  ...
