  • Date SQL not behaving correctly (British Date Format issue?)

Hi I have a very strange date problem which I can't make sense of.  I have an entry in my database for 28/08/2007.  I build an SQL statement based on a date entered by the user in the form which checks whether there is an entry that has a date <= the date specified.  I do this by substituting the Command on the relevant data ...

  • Re: Storing query result in a variable

Thanks for your persistance Greg. The namespaces are OK.  I've tracked it down to my modified SQL command for the secondary data source.  I am attempting to select on a date incorrectly somehow and this is causing the DOM to become invalid.  If I select manually on the ID (numeric) field in the SQL, everything is OK. I will ...

  • Re: Storing query result in a variable

Thanks again Greg. I am suspecting that this might be a lack of understanding on my part of namespaces for secondary data sources.  I have set the SelectionNamespaces to the same as the main data source.  See code below: XDocument.DOM.setProperty "SelectionNamespaces", ...

  • Re: Storing query result in a variable

Thanks Greg Changed to using GetDom("HolidayCalendar") instead of DataObjects("HolidayCalendar").DOM but still getting an object required error when using selectSingleNode?  I don't know why I can't get data into a variable from a secondard data source - it's frustrating and mystifying. I've tried ...

  • Storing query result in a variable

I have set up a query so that I pull a single row back from a table (secondary data source), but I don't know how to assign the value to a variable.  Do I have to bind a form field to a column in the database table and then retrieve the value from the field?  I have tried this approach but I am getting an "Object ...

  • Re: Store query results in an array

Thanks Clay OK.  I can change the 'where clause' to compare individual dates with dates in the table - I was trying to be efficient by loading all the dates into memory and reducing the number of function calls and queries/network traffic. Unfortunately I work for an organisation that has locked-down the PC so that no ...

  • Store query results in an array

Hi I have successfully developed a form linked with an access database.  The form is for absence recording and I am looping through a date range excluding non-working days.  I have one task remaining which is to retrieve a set of holiday dates from a table and exclude them. I have set up the secondary connection and the query but I ...
