InfoPath Dev

cant even view table properties?

I've been working on an Infopath form on and off for a couple months now. Looking at it today, I'm unable to insert any new tables, cells or rows. Not a repeating table or anything, just a standard table for formatting. Merge & Split cells are also greyed out.. Any suggestion as to why? Thanks in advance for any insight!

Hey all, I'm trying to add a section to a form so that when the checkbox for a particular field is enabled (checked) the optional section will open displaying more fields... does this make sense? Thanks in advance for any insight to this issue!
