  • Re: Newbie Infopath / Sharepoint / Database question

Fonzie, Search these forums (you can actually search for my username as well) and you will find some posts as to how to post data from sharepoint into

  • Re: Sharepoint 03 / Infopath 03, Time Zones and Dates

Patrick, Thanks for the quick reply. an 'Event' is a SharePoint 'Events list', which is essentially a calendar. I am aware that there is no TZ data in Infopath, what I need to know is how do I find the user's time zone and edit my timestamp so that I can send SharePoint the appropriate time-adjusted timestamp.  In ...

  • Sharepoint 03 / Infopath 03, Time Zones and Dates

I have been experiencing some weird stuff going on with SharePoint, and I was wondering if anyone has worked around these issues.  PLEASE NOTE: This is with Infopath 2003 and SPS 2003 First off, most of my users are in the US/Eastern time zone, as well as my server. I am posting to a SharePoint events list using infopath, with a smaller ...

  • Re: Add Sharepoint List Items with InfoPath

Dreamer, First, let me state that I haven't yet worked with 07' so I can't tell you if this is 07' specific. The two things I would check are: 1. If this is a lookup, make sure you use the 'ID' field as the value 2. If you are only uploading a subset of your list columns, and are missing some 'required' columns, it will not let you ...

  • Re: Add Sharepoint List Items with InfoPath

Lalewicz, A couple of 'gotchas': 1. Wherever I refer to XDocument.DataObjects or XDocument.DataAdapters, the adapter name needs to match EXACTLY! I used a bad example, in that my DataAdapter is actually called SharePoint. If your Data Adapter is called 'SharePoint Submit' then use that. 2. Make sure that you are posting to the correct Web ...

  • Re: Add Sharepoint List Items with InfoPath

Here is how I managed to get a pretty form to update sharepoint - again, thanks to matt for his original example, without which, I couldn't have gotten very far. First let me explain the process. What you are doing here is using the CAML as a template to create a record, which you then post to SharePoint's web service to add a new item. In ...

  • Re: Add Sharepoint List Items with InfoPath

Hey, I did some more searching and figured out how to make this work with a pretty form, I only have two more minor issues with it, that I hope someone can help me workaround: Quick background - I am creating a corporate contacts journal - so that people at our company can determine who spoke to whom at one of our clients. The whole thing posts ...

  • Re: Add Sharepoint List Items with InfoPath

Matt, glad I could help. But now I am stuck on another point: After figuring out how to get the correct field names and list ID, I want to create a 'Pretty' form to load data into SharePoint. However, the example you gave uses a repeating table. How do I link these guys up with manually layed-out fields?

  • Re: Add Sharepoint List Items with InfoPath

Matt, Great article - the tutorial is super helpful. I have read through this list and found an easier way to get the List GUID as well as the appropriate field names for your CAML Template - by Querying the SharePoint database. Please note - this info works for SPS, and YMMV if you're using WSS. It also assumes that you are familiar with ...
