  • Re: Getting infoPath and SharePoint to Accept a 98.3

Whatever field receives this calculation, try setting the format on the field (#.## or #.00). Check out MSDN Help for Number formatting. I, too, had an issue with decimal figures and significant digits. This seemed to fix it.

  • Document hierarchy and relationships

Dear Friends, I am considering using SharePoint to distribute and manage documents for a project. Is there a way to organize documents such that some documents are parent documents of of other documents. In other words, I would have something like the following hierarchy: Parent Doc --subdoc --subdoc --subdoc I may be able to do hyperlinks in ...

  • Re: File Attachment Control Does Not Display File

Matt, Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, this is a known bug with Infopath. File attachments were not orginally part of Infopath; they came with SP1. There is a special processing instruction needed at the top of the infopath xml to activate file attachments. I believe it is something like <?mso-infopath-file-attachments-present?>. ...

  • Re: Validate without an Alert Dialog

Thanks for the reply. I have built a dynamic table with repeating sections and textboxes. Each repeating section is a ''row'' in the table. The First Column and Row of the data can be alphanumeric, but all cells inside the second row, second column must be numeric. I know I can validate this using Alert dialogs, but I'd like to do it with ...

  • File Attachment Control Does Not Display File

I have an infopath form that has it's data stored in a database (the xml dom), stored in a database. I can retrieve the xml from the database and pop it into my template's DOM and all the data comes back correctly. However, the file attachment is not behaving as it should. Even though I have pulled the xml and verified that the attachment is ...

  • Validate without an Alert Dialog

Is it possible from JScript code to validate a field's value without telling the user that the field is in valid in an Alert dialog popup? In other words, I would like to encircle the field with a dotted red line like Infopath does when one of the data validation conditions are met instead of setting eventObj.returnStatus = false and ...

That worked. Big time thank you. quote:Originally posted by Greg Collins The event you are looking for is OnContextChange.

  • A focus or OnEnter event for textbox controls.

Is there a way in infopath to determine which control the cursor has entered? A comparable event in C# or VB is OnFocus Event or the OnEnter event? To my knowledge OnBeforeChange will not fire when the cursor enters the field. Also, I looked at the Infopath object model and didn't see an event that matches my description. Am I overlooking ...

  • Re: Embedding Excel in Infopath

Add columns, add rows, remove columns, remove rows. Just for basic data entry. I know that I have to have some sort of structure already built into the schema for columns, and the rows are just elements of a repeating section.

  • Embedding Excel in Infopath

Has anyone built a form that either uses Excel in Infopath (embedded Excel inside infopath), or has built a dynamic table that mimics the behavior of a spreadsheet inside Infopath?
