Thanks for the replies. If I do this with a view, next time you open the form from a form library in SharePoint it reverts back to the default view. Is there anyway of setting so that if something has been pressed the form will always open in the read only view? Thanks again

I am using InfoPath 2003 and want to be able to press a button which sets the entire form ( about 83 fields) to be read only or locked, so that once this button has been pressed no other users can make changes to the form. Can anyone help? Thanks Clare
