I tested this on the thank you view. I put a text box field at the top and made it 1px x 1px and set the tab order 1 (works at when you don't change it either). It worked for me.
Also I tried to do this with the calculated value you field (didn't work) and I also tried putting my thank you message into a section that didn't work ...
