I tried all the steps in the reply above and almost got it working accept that somehow it is adding submitter email at the end of WorkEmail field on submit.  any way to get rid of that???  Please advise.  

 I have a people picker which accepts multiple values. The value of these names has location of offices with Display name and I would like to take the location out from the display name.
