As an update: Im escalating to IT support. they reproduced my list in their test environment and they see the same issue. Seems like an issue on Application level.

sp2013. I reset the original List to Default form and I was able to select. I saved the customized form a gain and same issue. So I reset it once more and I’m able to select. I then looking into the content and I see it all messy. In the default view, I can edit info and it looks nice. The custom view messes all the formatting. lots of & ...

I tried that as well. It behaves the same in IE, Chrome and Firefox. Not sure if this can help: if the content is long, and I select if away from the top, when I lose the selection, if scrolls back to the beginning of the Notes field, as if I had clicked on an anchor and the bookmark was the first line.

Yes it does make sense to me what we are testing, but the result and the issue itself is driving me nuts =( The test reproduced the issue. I opened the form of the new List in InfoPath and saved it, without making any changes. The behavior that was “able to select” is now “unable to select”.

Hi Hilary, thanks for your reply and support  I created a new list, added a column with the same setting, created an Item, and posted data that I was not able to select. As I opened the Item, in its default view I was able to select the content, no issues. So we are narrowing down the issue to the custom form itself, correct?
