  • Re: Repeating Cascading List from a Hierarchical Data

I've been through the tuorial myself a couple of times. Put it down to experience. I don't know about field names being reserved for commands. ~Sam

Yeah, that's what I meant. When you made the boxes that the filter refers to, did you make them with a capital letter at the start? Basically, your xpath has to match your datasources exactly (capitalisation included). Forgive me if I'm wrong but it's been a while since I did this and I'm tired >.< Post back if it still doesn't work. ...

Are you sure that you have correctly capitalised?

  • Re: Repeating Cascade List Problem

It's funny in the end how it all comes down to syntax. I'd still like to know how you got the infinite loop in a datasource... Glad you got it working!

  • Re: Repeating Cascade List Problem

Wow, In my rather limited experience with infopath I've never seen that. You seem to have managed to put some xml inside itself. First place I'd look is at the XML itself. Any chance you could post it? I'm intrigued. Matt, or someone, might have a more immediate idea of what's going on...

quote:but now I see the same group repeat itself, ad infinitum in the Data Source view ...not quite sure what you're indicating here, I don't think anything in the data source view should repeat itself infinately. All I can say is, the msc_cpe_kit_list you posted is fine (I've used it successfully). If your xpaths/filters are correct, and your ...

  • Re: Default IF

This is the formula I use to get pull in the default value: xdXDocument:GetDOM(''serial_numbers'')/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:serials/@value[../@host_name = contains(../@host_name, translate(xdXDocument:get-DOM()/my:myFields/my:group4/my:deviceName, ''ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ'', ''abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz''))] How does one go about ...

  • Re: Default IF

Thanks Matt, it's been a while since I messed with this stuff but it's funny how it all makes sense when someone tells you the answer. Works a charm, but... Alas, the situation is more complex than I had thought... fieldA contains serial numbers for a device and gets it's value (by means of a Default Value, as said previously) from a secondary ...

  • Default IF

Hi, I have a text fieldA and it's value is set by a formula using the Default Value option. Is there a way to only use this default if fieldB has a value of 'x'? Or do I have to go and write code? TIA
