Also this post has more info. I am using InfoPath 2003 to create a read-only view (really a report, not a form). I then extract the view (.xsl) file from the .xsn file and use it outside InfoPath to create an HTML display from an XML data file. The latter part is done ... We have a need to create tables (e.g. with 1 column) where the rows are as dense as possible (to fit much info on a printed page). I would like the result to appear as a single line paragraph in Word (try it - copy the table contents and paste into Word, make the text single line and 0 paddings etc). The best I was able to can do it select the ... Posted to General (Forum) by ShaulDar on 05-17-2006 Avoiding page breaks in middle of section or table I have 2 questions related to page breaks, things that can be done in Word and I wonder if a similar effect can be achived in InfoPath: 1. Is there a way to prevent a section or table from breaking on a page break when printing a form, similar to the paragraph property ''keep lines together'' in Word. I.e. I would like the section or table to be ... Posted to General (Forum) by ShaulDar on 05-17-2006 A template that generates text (not HTML) As I understand the presentation of forms in InfoPath is via an .xslt template that takes XML data and generates HTML. I have a case where I would like the template to generate plain text (i.e. no formating). This is becuase the resulting filled form must be exported to a system (an old HIS = Hospital Information System) that can only record and ... Posted to General (Forum) by ShaulDar on 03-27-2006 Populate repeating table from another view Sorry - I posted this last week with a misleading title (Populate repeating table from another FORM). I have a repating table, say Orders. I want users to add orders by clicking an ''Add Order'' button. This will open a new view for filling an order, which could be quite detailed. Upon hitting the OK button on this Order view it should be closed ... This will open a new view with a form for filling an order, which could be quite detailed. Upon hitting the OK button on this Order form it should be closed and the data should be added as another row in the repating table on the main view. I ... Posted to General (Forum) by ShaulDar on 03-07-2006 Need more functions, e.g. square root, age... Hi, I ran into the need for additional functions, not available through the built-in formulas. Two recent examples: 1. Square root 2. Date functions that calculate age from birthdate (would love to say something like ''years(today()- DOB)'', where DOB is a field user fill date-of-birth... Yes, I know I can write code (I saw the age() code ... Posted to General (Forum) by ShaulDar on 03-07-2006 Copy controls between forms, with bindings? I want to have multiple forms (.xsn files) with shared ''elements'', e.g. sections with controls on them. However, when I copy a control from one form to another the data bindings are lost. This seems to happen even if the data source is the same, e.g. same SQL Server database. Can this be avoided or circumvented? Thanks. -- Shaul Posted to General (Forum) by ShaulDar on 03-06-2006 Add custom (user) command? How can I add a custom (user) command to InfoPath (or more generallt to all Office applications), e.g. to a menu and toolbar? The command can point to an EXE or HTML file (with scripting) for example. I also wonder how this can be done programatically so I can distribute this extension to other computers. Specifically I want the command to ... Posted to General (Forum) by ShaulDar on 02-21-2006 Can I have side-by-side or overlapping sections? Can anyone suggest how I could have sections that are: 1. Side-by-side (I know I can do this with layout tables but this presents other problems to me). 2. Overlapping (i.e. one ''behind'' another), with buttons/tabs/links used to ''activate'' one of the sections and bring it to the top. I saw one suggestion using multiple views ...
