  • Re: Releasing lock on file

Matt, Isn't that what InfoPath is for? (sincere question) I mean it's a data editor, and XML is data. I have users that need to edit the data but have no experience with editing XML. Is there a better ''super-friendly'' editor for XML? The big picture is that the XML files contain structured ''content.'' This content is created/edited by ...

  • Releasing lock on file

I need InfoPath to release the lock on a file without actually closing infopath. My users use InfoPath to edit XML files. They want to view these files in a browser at the same time... Side-by-side. Except once you save changes in InfoPath, InfoPath takes an exclusive lock on the file and nothing else can read the changes. Is there any way ...

  • Re: using Regform with VS2005 installed

Thanks. Good info.. However I'm not allowed to release any code based on .Net 2.0 yet. So I have to compile my template in 1.1. What I did was uninstall VS2005 and VS2003. Then reinstall VS2003 and it was all better. -Mark

  • using Regform with VS2005 installed

''regform does not support Microsoft Visual Studio version number 8.0.50727.42'' I get this message when trying to run regform. My InfoPath template is a VS 2003 project... but I also have VS 2005 installed. It appears that regform is picking up the wrong compiler. Any word on a workaround for this? -Mark

  • Re: Opening old forms in a new template

Wow! great idea. Man, I'm so burnt-out I didn't think of that. Thanks for setting me straight. I've been doing InfoPath for just a week and I'm finding plenty of challenges. Tag from my new template: <?mso-infoPathSolution solutionVersion=''1.0.0.1'' productVersion=''11.0.6357'' ...

  • Opening old forms in a new template

I have forms that are plain-ole XML files. I've made some trivial changes to my template. All I really did was run regform to create an MSI. This is how I ran regform: C:\> regform /T Yes /MSI XTemp.xsn I ran the resulting MSI and installed the template in the default directory. I modified one of my forms so that it would point to the ...
