  • Re: Printing Recursive InfoPath Data with Excel

Thanks for the tip, Patrick. BTW, after experimenting with all of the possible printing options I settled on ExcelML. It wasn't too difficult to create an XML-to-Excel XSL file for the various InfoPath views. I used .NET code for the transform and it works great! The user just clicks a button from an InfoPath ''Print Manager'' view and the data ...

  • Re: Printing Recursive InfoPath Data with Excel

I was able to make contact with Jeff Webb, author of *Excel 2003: A Developer's Notebook* (which includes some great stuff on InfoPath). I summarize his comments here for the benefit of others who might later see this thread and have a similar challenge to mine. Basically, he didn't think using code to populate a templated XML-mapped Excel ...

  • Printing Recursive InfoPath Data with Excel

I am working on a pretty complex SharePoint/InfoPath system for a client in the millwork supply business. The ability to print the form views is important to him. He wants nicely formatted pages, but his data often is displayed in very wide tables that can also run for many printed pages. Well-formatted printing (esp. page breaks across embedded ...

  • Re: XPath for summing qty for unique rows in repeating

Thank you for the tip, Frank. That did it! I'm pretty new to XPath and it has my head spinning at times, but I got this to work with your suggestion. The final expression is: sum(/descendant-or-self::node()/my:Item[my:PartNum = current()/../my:PartNum]/my:ItemQty) So I substituted "current()/../my:PartNum" for the hardcoded ...

  • XPath for summing qty for unique rows in repeating

I have an inventory form that has multiple sections in which the same part # can be entered. (Think of each section like a grouping of parts, and parts can be duplicated between sections.) After all the data is entered I want to be able to display one repeating table that has one row for each unique part #. I want this row to have the total ...

Yes, Local Intranet. I also tried it as a Trusted site. Thanks!

Great! We can be patient. I'm just glad you're even willing to help. It is much appreciated. I hope that MS will also find some value in helping us figure this out. I don't think what we're trying to do is that out of the ordinary. It should ''just work''.

  • Re: Access and SharePoint: JET OLE DB Issue

Patrick, just a quick note to say that this is a Microsoft project. I just tried deploying the template using the standalone db on an MS internal site http://team/sites/<name>) and got the same error. So it's not just my VPC domain configuration. We're running up against a deadline so we're just going to have to jettison any use of Access at ...

  • Re: UserName bug(?) for forms published to SP library

Yes, it does work. I wasn't aware of the Advanced option to ''Show a notification for managed code errors.'' With that turned on I do see the Security exception. So feel free to move this thread out of the Bugs folder : ). Now if I can just get around those Access database connection issues without having to fully trust the *site* (and thus lose ...

  • Re: Access and SharePoint: JET OLE DB Issue

Agni, Thanks for looking into this, but as my postings state, I tried all of this. For the standalone scenario I removed the path and used just the name of the db after adding it to the template's Resources. This is as the author explains on p. 174 of *Developing Solutions with MS InfoPath.* Then I tried the shared approach explained on p. 175. ...
