  • Buttons not working on IP form when viewed through InforPath Form Services viewer Web part

Hi everyone, I've got a number of InfoPath forms which the user typically opens by clicking on a link on the SharePoint page.   Recently I've tried to use the SharePoint 2013 web part (InfoPath Form Services viewer)  to display the form directly on the web page. Whereas the form works fine when opened through the link, ...

  • Re: Best practice on REST web services

This might be the amusing part, but I don't know how to update the SQL tables through a web service, except by using Custom Code....  So it's a REST (WCF) web service - I just need to do single record inserts, updates and deletes...   The data connection is a secondary data source, and I've always understood ...

  • Re: Best practice on REST web services

Yes, exactly, the web service talks to the SQL table. My preference would be to  use the web service to update the tables.   regards, David

  • Re: Best practice on REST web services

Hello Hilary, The custom code does the really basic CRUD operations... - Insert a single record, delete a single record and update a single record. (All using secondary data sources) and the data source is an SQL Table. So essentially I use the "Change REST URL" rule to query the source using ODATA, and then need ...

  • Re: Best practice on REST web services

Thanks Reema, Just briefly the QRules command "SubmitToSharePoint" - will that work for Web services which are NOT in SharePoint?  (Because my web Service is a WCF REST web service, just hosted on a standard web server, not SharePoint)    thanks again, David

  • Best practice on REST web services

Hi everyone, I use InfoPath 2013, and have recently purchased QRules... I have a series of existing InfoPath web forms which use WCF REST Web services, querying the Data using ODATA (with InfoPath Rules) and then submitting new records using Custom Code. Now I have QRules I'm hoping to remove some of the custom code replacing it with ...

  • My Infopath 2013 form keeps growing in size - why?

Hi everyone, I'm using InfoPath 2013, and for months and months the file size has been static around 300kb - Recently though it's being growing in size, and is now up to 15MB. I've published the source files to see what is the cause of this, and there are a series of files named "Microsoft.Data.Odata99.xml" and ...

  • How to insert New Line characters in a text string

Hi everyone, I'm using InfoPath 2013, and have a WCF Web Service which supplies data to my form. (The Web Service is based on an SQL view from a Microsoft SQL DB.) One of the columns that the Web Service returns is a text string. I would like to manipulate the text string in the SQL View, so that each sentence in the string appears on a ...

Hi everyone, I've just written a WCF web service, and am using OData to query that... I'm using $expand to obtain information in a related table.
