  • InfoPath2007 form with file attachment control email issue

I have an InfoPath 2007 form that includes a file attachment control. When users submit the form it is submitted using a data connection :email to example@abc.com. Whenever a user submits a form with a file attached the form is sent to my outlook box in the body of the email & I can see the icon for the attached document embedded within the ...

  • Re: Username showing of current user not person who submitted form

So, this is embarassing... I found the fix and it was super simple. All I had to do was go to the read-only view where my field is displayed, go to the properties and uncheck the box that reads "update this value when the result of the formula is recalculated". Just in case anyone else has this same issue.

I'm having this same issue...sort of. I'm using InfoPath 2007 and have the form published to a SharePoint site where my library collects all the completed versions of the form users have filled out. I have a rule that tells the form to set a field's value to the name retreived from the "GetUserProfileByName" data connection. ...

  • Re: Infopath form error on Sharepoint when too many words or characters are entered ????

I was able to resolve the issue late yesterday afternoon and tested last night & this morning... things have been functioning as they should so far. In my case, it turned out that our SharePoint Administration team had turned off emailing functionality behind the scenes in the testing environment and that was triggering this error. I just ...

I'm getting this same error message. I haven't been able to figure out what is causing the error. What led you to believe it is due to too many characters in a certain text box? I've been trying to figure out how to backtrack to the item/field in the form that is causing the error, but of course there are no details in the error ...

  • Re: Sending a non-active view via email?

Ok, got that done. Leads me to another question - In order for this solution to work both sections (the data entry section and the email section) need to be two separate sections, correct? Is there a way I can copy all the sections I currently have that I want to put into a larger section that will be my 'data entry' section and keep the ...

  • Re: Sending a non-active view via email?

Thank you Hilary, I'm going to try your solution. Could you provide a bit more detail on adding the boolean field "isEmailing"? Is it a field I can insert using the 'Insert Controls' menu or is there some other way I should do it? I don't want it to be visible on the form.  Thanks again for your ...

  • Re: Sending a non-active view via email?

Here is one of the 4 rules in my submit button. All are set up similarly, the only difference being the data connections submitted to, based on what is contained in the form. Function: Set a field's value: field Submit_Date = today()Function: Set a field's value: field Submit_Status = "Submitted"Submit ...

  • Re: Sending a non-active view via email?

Hi Hilary, I'm new to using InfoPath and I've inherited a template from someone who left my company. The form is pretty complex. Since I've gotten it I've only had to make a few very basic updates. Shortly after I published the updated template to our SharePoint site people began reporting the same error "tried to ...
