I got it to work based on you example.  Some how I had a value set in the first fx field and it just kept counting the total number of repeating fields.  I copied and pasted the formula into the 2nd, 3rd and 4th fields and changed them to match the different criteria.  They worked right.  I then deleted the 1st field entirely ...

That was the place to go to add and remove rows on startup for repeating tables. I do not think I would have found it on my own.  Thanks for your quick response.

I have converted word documents and excel documents into infopath documents.  When I open the infopath document I get repeating tables with 3 initial Rows.  i would like to cut that down to just 1 inital row.  i cannot find the option to adjust the initial display of 3 rows.  Thanks
