I really only have one piece of knowledge that might be usful and that would be to explore the use of CAML to submit changes to the secondary data sources. This is working well for me. Searching for CAML and/or UpdateListItems might get you started. My posting walks through my adventure to get this working and can ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by m3_del on 06-01-2010 Populating selected items in a "Multiple-Selection List Box" I have a form that pulls info from two secondary data sources. One SP list is just a list of "Categories", the other is a list of "Rule Names" and their associated "Categories". The Categories field in the second list is a lookup column with the "Allow multiple selections" option checked. Below is the form ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by m3_del on 05-28-2010 Re: web service, caml code and secondary data question This is what I got hung up on too. The key is selecting field for change value rule. Once you have done that, export the source. Edit the manifest.xsf in a text editor. You need to locate the specific rules that will look similar to this <xsf:assignmentAction ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by m3_del on 05-24-2010 Re: Submitting data to secondary data source I am very glad. Thank you for sticking with me on this! I have learned more about infopath this week then all my previous encounters before! Thanks again! Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by m3_del on 05-21-2010 Re: web service, caml code and secondary data question This sounds like you are trying to accomplish what I just finish working through earlier this week. Check out this post and read all the way through. It starts focusing on submitting data to a secondary source and ends on trying to populate repeatable caml fields. I may be misunderstanding what you are trying to do altogether, if so sorry ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by m3_del on 05-20-2010 Re: Submitting data to secondary data source Ok, so I got rid of the on change rule for the checkbox and made a rule for on submit that changes the field[@Name='Virtualized'] to the checkbox value. This works as intended. Strange that the same exact rule for the checkbox onchange is unable to remain consistent in the web form version Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by m3_del on 05-20-2010 Re: Submitting data to secondary data source No Errors on Design checker. Here are my two rule sets that I have the first group applies when I change the server drop down. The second applies when I change the value of the virtualized check box. (btw how do I put code into its own section on these boards? I am not seeing a code tag) The first set work both when i preview the ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by m3_del on 05-19-2010 Re: Submitting data to secondary data source So here we are I think I finally have it working! At least when I preview in Infopath... When I publish and try in the web browser I end up with the ID and Virtualized Fields both changing instead of just one. Can I expect these forms not to work in web format? I am not sure that is a big deal, just would be nice to know for ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by m3_del on 05-19-2010 Re: Submitting data to secondary data source Ok, Here is what is mostly working now. <xsf:assignmentAction targetField="xdXDocument:GetDOM("update")/Batch/Method/Field[2]" expression="xdXDocument:GetDOM("Regional ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by m3_del on 05-19-2010 Re: Submitting data to secondary data source Here is the modified (unworking) manifest.xsf. For the first and last assignmentAction I have added in [../@Name='Virtualized'] and [../@Name='ID'] I have also tried without the @ symbol. I understand this as "change the value of the field where the name equals Virtualized" Am I reading this correctly? I am ...
