  • Re: Track all changes made to a record in Infopath

Access doesn't have a built in functionality to keep historical data like that, it requires code. My organization wants me to create a working prototype with Access( lol) and then sell the idea to other business groups and get funding for some kind of server where we can use some SQL based app. For now I'm stuck with Access and ...

  • Track all changes made to a record in Infopath

Can the following code be applied to Infopath when it's linked to Access in the back-end. For example: anytime I submit a change to a record in Infopath, can the pre-update record be copied to a historical table.   http://www.vb123.com/Toolshed/00_access/auditrecords.htm

  • Re: Open InfoPath from an Access form or vice-versa.

Thanks for the reply. Basically I wanted a button to open Infopath from an Access form. I was able to do it using a .bat file that had a command to open  a specified location infopath form.   Here's what I did and it worked!: (1) Created a .bat file in notepad with the following command line:  Start/d ...

  • Open InfoPath from an Access form or vice-versa.

I want to have a button on an Access form or an InfoPath form that I can use to open either application. Is this possible through code?

  • Re: Group data from repeating table based on one field

I do not have a good understanding of XLS or HTML. I really appreciate the help. Does IP 2007 have better "reporting" capabilities than 2003? The application I'm building is a Personnel database that is linked to an Access db. I want to keep IP as the front end app for everything, but I'm afraid that I may have to do the roster ...

  • Group data from repeating table based on one field

I have an employee table where people are assigned to different jurisdictions. In the form print view I have a repeating table and I want to group EMP from the same jurisdiction together as shown in the attached screenshot from an Excel file. Note: Each record or EMP has a jurisdiction attached to it.

  • Prevent users from deleting rows in repeating table, but OK to rows.

I have an infopath form connected to an access db and I have a repeating table in infopath. How do I prevent the users from accidently hitting the delete key and submitting to the database and deleting the record? Of course I want them to be able to add new records. Another dilema: And what is the user inserts a row by mistake, shouldn't ...

  • Re: Relational database Access/Infopath

I'm not getting a particular error per say. I just don't know what is the simplest way to be able to track the changes in the employee table such as when an employee changes office, department, name or unit. Basically I need to track the historical data for the Employee table. So now that I think about it, the EMP table should be the ...

  • Re: Relational database Access/Infopath

It's a one to many relationship(Unit-EMP table). I have both tables linked properly in the form. I just don't know how to set up form so I can update the unit of an employee as he/she moves around units. I believe the EMP table should be repeating since I want to update many records.
