Hey Bill,
Here's an idea:
1. Create a boolean node in a secondary dom called ''fieldXedited'' - defaults to false
2. Set conditional formatting on fieldX in the Main DOM to be blue/red depending on value of ''fieldXedited'' on 2DS
3. Add an OnAfterChange event on fieldX that sets ''fieldXedited'' to true.

I am using the following to get the value from the top level of my group, how to I loop through sub and sub-sub groups (the number of which changes)?
Dim oNodeList As IXMLDOMNodeList
Dim oNode As IXMLDOMNode
Dim oField As IXMLDOMNode
oNodeList = thisXDocument.DOM.selectNodes(''my:myFields/my:ProjEstimate/my:WBSSummary'')
If ...

Also, remove the ''Cannot be blank'' attribute from the node. You will be using only this custtom data validation.

In step 4 use ''false'' instead of ''true''.

You mightn need to download the .NET sdk. Are you sure you have Visual Studio 2003 with .NET?

Hi blackduke77 and welcome to the forum!
There are a couple of ways to do this with code. I will provide some psuedo code below
IXMLDOMNode nParent = thisXDocument.DOM.selectSinglNode( ''/my:myFields/my:group1'' );
// Create a sample node
IXMLDOMNode nSampleChild = nParent.FirstChild.cloneNode(true);
// Remove the old ...

I have this same issue on a few reports that have been submitted by infopath over the past year and a half. I havn't found a ryme or reason for it. But usally they have to retype the report for them to be able to submit it.

Sorry Matt,
That's not what I am looking for...
I have a check box called ''nofixedabode''.
I have an address textbox which is set as a mandatory field.
Is it possible that when the check box ''nofixedabode'' is True,
that the address textbox will no longer be set as a mandatory field.
I don't know if this can be done, might just have to work ...

Thanks Greg for your response,
How do I view the code to be able to remove the tag? I've opened up in NotePad, but it is pretty much one long string of code and I could not find the characters in the sequence --^ by using the find command.

Dustin
