Why is it that I can copy and paste a numbered list from one list to another in the same view, but if I go to another view with an empty numbered list in that view and try to past it, the list gets pasted in as one item and not lets say 50?
THANKS!!!!!

Yes. We have done this for several projects and Jim's example is based on a solution we provided for a live project to do exactly what you are talking about.
You can do this in XSL if you want, but the code is easier to debug (unless you have Visual Studio 2005 which has a built in XSL debug tool)

Also, if you go to the relink view in SharePoint and just check all the boxes and relink (even if they're already linked) it will repopulate all the promoted properties.

What you're trying to do is set the Save as location. You can do this in the form itself through code. Look for that as a property you can set. You can set the filename too.

Hello, Patrick:
I'm working with an ASPX developer in my company who isn't familiar with working with InfoPath. Between the two of us (I have no development experience) we're trying to create a client front-end to a SQL database. The user will be doing some preliminary work on a Web page, then those values need to be passed to InfoPath to ...

You have found a limitation of InfoPath. To get it working with an Access database you either need to create the form initially as connected to the database or have to write code to connect an existing form to a database.
Another way to handle this scenario is to use our Qdabra Database Accelerator product which allows you to connect existing ...

I'd like to expand on this. The reason why InfoPath is not suited for reporting scenarios is as follows:
1) Performance is slow with large amounts of data. Specifically when trying to show it in the view.
2) Sorting is not straightforward.
3) Filtering is slow.
In limited situations where we want ot generate reports for InfoPath rich-text data ...

Adding xsl:sort to the view shoudl be a last resort though. Editing the XSL is generally discouraged even internally for us who know it intimately. :) Better to come up with a sorted view in sharepoint and try to use that.

If you only specify one of the values (height or width) then InfoPath will retain the aspect ratio while resizing.

My company has developed an app which the customer uses to populate my various Infopath forms. I would like to be able to take several completed forms (all based on different templates) and combine them into 1 document. I don't want to merge forms based on the same template and I don't want to mix the data from 1 form in among the data of another ...
