• Re: Very slow CopyTable

Rendering is the display, so yes, not showing the data on the form can help you understand if the issue is with rendering. I don't know what a "set checkbox" rule is. I'm assuming you mean if you add a rule to set the value of a True / False field to true after your other rules have run - if so, then the answer is yes. Rules run ...

  • IPFS, Design Checker Errors & Print Preview

I don't know about you, but I sometimes ignore the Design Checker in InfoPath - especially when it is throwing an error over some poor expression box (calculated value) that it thinks is bound to a repeating group (what's that about any way? Aren't these things not bound to anything? Isn't that the point?). Clicking on one of ...

  • Re: create a workflow in sharepoint designer to send an email to the email address located in the form

When you say workflow - you mean SharePoint workflow, right? Is the "To" field a promoted property in your form library? Or are you saying you aren't sure how add the form logic to figure out who the form should be sent to? What does the user enter? A user name? Or a full name? What about a contact selector control? Then you'd ...

  • Re: Very slow CopyTable

I'd test that - download a category with fewer items (if you don't have one, perhaps you can create one? Or limit the number of rows some other way?) That is, simulate the scenario. Is the performance what you need? If so, then move forward with the approach. Again, if the issue is with rendering, having fewer rows on the form will speed ...

  • Re: What is the best practice to promote infopath form fields?

For content types, if the columns hold the same type of data (and it sounds like they do, at least as far as Country and Department goes), I'd use the site column that already exists. That way if you have a library that has two content types available, you'd have a single column holding Country information - that seems like it would be ...

  • XPath Resources

InfoPath tries to help out with XPath via the UI, but sometimes to be able to accomplish complex conditions, you may need to write your own XPath. A good knowledge of XPath is also useful for qRules commands. Here are a few online resources I like for getting comfortable with ...

  • Re: A repeating table that shows data from 2 other repeating tables

I'd use two expression boxes (calculated values IP 2010) for item 1. One has text saying Yes. The other has text saying No. You can use your XPath above to conditionally format them - hide if the Yes box if the field = false, the No box if the field = true. Can you add a screenshot of item 2?

  • Re: Very slow CopyTable

Here's what I did recently for a form I was working on that required copying a great deal of data into the main data source. This data had a heirarchy - Category, Subcategory, Question. So, first I downloaded and copied in the categories, displaying those on the view with + and - buttons to expand and collapse the levels. The first time the ...

  • Re: Hiding sections with the status of workflow

To start troubleshooting this, I'd temporarily drag the data connection you made to the document library workflow columns onto the form and make sure the values are what you think you they will be. Generally, when I have troubles with conditional formatting, it is because I'm misunderstanding what the values are.

  • Re: Very slow CopyTable

To start with, I would try to figure out if one particular rule action is slow. So, disable everything after the Query - how's the time? Then, add the Copy Table rule back - still slow? What makes sense to me is first figuring out if it is copy table that is slow, or if it is the query. When you copy the table, is the data displayed on the ...
