The SharePoint DWS service allows us to Create a folder: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms774480(v=office.12).aspx
I believe if you try to create a folder that already exists, it returns an error indicating as much, but do test as I don't trust my recollection.
According to this post, the UpdateListItems method of the Lists ...

Oh - I forgot with a multi select the way the schema is set up - a repeating field that gets an instance added with each selection. You can set your dropdown to set that field to blank when it changes - you'd still have some blank instances of the field which you could use a filter to not display - I think there is no way in the IP UI to ...

I wonder if since the filter is causing your issue if you may want to return your data pre-filtered. I don't know what your data source is for your multi-select list box, but if it is a SharePoint list you could use the OData REST service to return just what you need based on the selection from the drop down, or you could use the query fields ...

To open the xsn you have to open in design mode. So download it to your machine, then right click on the xsn file and select Design. That opens it in designer.
So, I'm guessing you are using IP 2010 and ShP 2010? Are you getting the correct data returned in your new data source? You can just drag it onto your form and preview and see what you ...

Have you looked at the SharePoint log files to see if there is any info there as to what may be happening (and failing?)

This is an IP 2010 form? I'd thought the only option with 2010 was VSTA - that there was no longer a Visual Studio option for IP templates - see the comments at the end of this blog post for a bit more info....

Hi:
What you are looking for is called cascading drop downs.
I'm assuming you have your first drop down set up correctly. It is bound to a field in your main data source, I'll guess - and for the purposes of discussion, I'll call that field Contact.
So, your second drop down - for the values, you'll use the same SharePoint list ...

Oh, I see, you just needed the data to display as read only in your form! That's a whole different thing, as you figured out - great job!

Safest is to requery the list right before - you have to get the latest data to make sure you have the latest numbers.
