The only method i can find is appendChild and when i use that i get a "schema validation error", any idea what that means?

Doh ! Yes Matt is right his proposal should be easier to implement than mine. Sometimes you just don't think about the simple things. Thx Matt for jumping in.

Actually, this would be pretty easy to do with just expression boxes.
1. Drop the A structure on the view as a repeating table.
2. Add 2 blank columns to the table (InfoPath might try to create new nodes in the data source for this, but don't let it)
3. In the first column add an expression box that has an XPath like ...

Nukkumati has the right idea if you're just looking to generate a random number (as is the basis of this thread), but if you're trying to grab the SharePoint ID (which is also a GUID), you will have to do that by checking out the Address Bar in a web browser. Check out my blog post on Adding SharePoint List Items from InfoPath and you should find ...

Nukkumati is correct. There is no position 0 in XML. Weird, huh?
To avoid these problems, use the preffered method of looping:
var list = XDocument.DOM.selectNodes( ''_xpath_to_repeating_structure_'' );
var node;
while( ( node = list.nextNode()) != null )
{
XDocument.UI.Alert( node.text );
}
If ...

Hi Soham,
I really don't think you need to be using code in this situation. I think what happens is that you are always comparing to the first row of the repeating table. You need to make use of the current() or position() xpath functions. Is the section outside of the first repeating section also repeating? If so, you should compare where ...

Hi virmax,
Here's how I would do it:
0. Add an image control to your form. When it asks if you want the image to be included in the form or simply linked, choose LINKED.
1. Put all of your images in 1 folder, preferably accessible over the internet
2. Fill your drop-down with name/value pairs. The values should be the filename ...

Hi soham10,
Unfortunately, this isn't too easy. The only way you can do this is to insert a ''Please Select'' value into the data source that is populating the list, and then set that as the default selection.

In my oppinion it will be hard if not impossible to do this with just using rules. I would suggest using some code to loop through your repeating sections coming from your main or secondary datasource, compare the two namespace fields to each other and then dynamically generate new rows for a third repeating table filling it with either both ...

I am now not 100% but is there a position 0 for repeating tables ? So my best guess would be to try for(var i = 1; i <= XDocument.DOM.selectNodes("my:myFields/my:group1/my:group2").length;i++) and you cannot use [i] you have to use the second syntax you posted [" + i + "].
Does it help ?
