I agree with Ernesto that this doesn't seem like something qRules could help with - but logically, couldn't you compare the max of the ID in the two libraries, and then increment the highest by 1?
That is, create a data connection to each library, and have two rules - one with a condition that max ID in Library 1 is higher than max ID in ...

Hi - we've not seen this issue before. Can you paste in the value you are getting returned to your qRules link attribute for one of the files that fails?

Thanks so much for posting back with this info - it is bound to help others!

The only thing I can think of is that the comparison field (field 3) isn't an exact match of field 1. Have you tried copying from field 3 and pasting into field 1? Then tabbing or clicking out so the validation is re-evaluated?

No, don't change the event handler. You need to change the code itself.

This code is on the change of a field w/in the repeating table?
This is an absolute XPath:
/my:myFields/my:Info/my:UserInput/my:HoursEntry/my:StartDate
It starts at the root node.
The method signature for the field that you added the changed event to will look something like this:
Public Sub field2_Changed(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e ...

So - your initial post said you were comparing to field 2. This is comparing against field 3.....

Isn't it amazing what a 2nd draft of a form can do? I'm glad to hear you were able to streamline yours!

In general, the reason this happens is because the code uses an absolute XPath instead of a relative XPath. Without seeing your actual code, of course, I have no way of knowing why your code is not working as anticipated.

You are doing this in code? What's your code look like?
