• Re: Conditional Formatting does not work

Hello Davidair, thanks for your suuuuuuuuupppper fast response. I'll will try to share that solution but I have to ask before. I think it will be possible to do a private share if you send me your email. I didn't modify the generated form file and my Conditional formatting expression is extrem simple. It looks like ...

Hello Michael, From looking at the log, it looks like you are hitting a bug in InfoPath Forms Server. It is mostly caused by Forms Server choking on one of the xpaths generated by your conditional formatting. I would be extremely curious to see the solution you have, would it be possible to share it out? A few questions: - did you design ...

  • Re: can browser-enabled form execute client-side code?

The only way to write business logic for the browser-enabled forms is by doing it in .NET (it will get executed on the server). Forms developed this way will seamlessly work both in the Forms Server and the rich InfoPath client. However, although there is no direct way to run Javascript from a browser-enabled form, you can host your form in a ...

Hello, thank's very much for your answers. I turned on logging so that I'm able to see where the exception s thrown. I attached the part of the log at the end of this post. For me it looks like, that the Form itself may be ok but the deploymentprocess (perhaps the XSNFeatureReceiver) is failing. Perhaps someone can dig some more infos ...

  • Re: Reading from an external XML file.

Hmm... this is strange... if you are running full-trust and the file is accessible, I am not sure what else could be wrong. One thing you could try is to use the FSO object to load the file as text. Here is an MSDN example that shows you how to do this: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/t58aa4dd.aspx If you can get the XML in this way ...

I can only get it to work when the XML file is in the same folder as the form(s). I really hope there is a way around this

Michael, I have been able to get conditional formatting to work on browser-enabled forms before. Specifically, I am able to hide a section depending on a value in my data source. I haven't gotten any more in-depth than that, but maybe its something specific to the type of control you are trying to format? Jason

Not that I've seen. There isn't even an option for doing something as simple as displaying an alert box. In my experience, this is the biggest hole in the browser-enabled form approach. Maybe they'll figure out a way in a future release? Jason

Well, #1 Works, so thats out. And, I don't think the file is not accessible, because I'm modifying it. How can it not be accessible? I have a feeling this is gonna take me a while, lol thanks for the input aswell.

  • Re: Reading from an external XML file.

Couple of ideas: 1. There is a problem with the certificate and so the form is not *really* running as full trust. To check this, try to run Application.Quit() from your code - if this fails, the form is not really executing as full trust 2. The file is not accessible so you get a true "access denied" (this is less likely, I think ...
