Hi all,
after digging into the various online sources my first infopath form does nearly everything I wanted it to do, except for one thing.
My for mallows the user to seearch for products from a database. The query result list (repeating table RT1) allows the user to select one or more products, press a button upon which the selected rows will ...

Well whatever is in your query fields when you execute the query is what is used. It sounds like you need some preliminary action to seed your fields before the query. I have done this exact thing before for HR forms.
You need an originating user field. if it is blank then set it with the current user. (new form Scenario)
I usually put a version field in somewhere so I know how many times a form has been modified too. (have it incremented each submit)
Put in a rule on open that checks the originating ...

Hey Paul, welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you have InfoPath 2007, like you are importing the word form. If that is the case you can put fields in your header or footer but in InfoPath 2003 you cannot. You are right the other option is to do it within your form which can often be difficult to accomplish depending on your form.

Hi,
Is there a function or a way to to detect if a form is opened in the Offline mode.
My problem is that I need to know if a person can submit or if he should save the form until he gets online. I'm also changing the query for my dropdowns to only display the required data, and was wondering if it would automatically use the stored values ...

Thanks again!
